2020 Tim Collins Benefit Golf Tournament

Cherokee Lake Realty participated as a Gold Sponsor for the Tim Collins Golf Tournament held at Clinchview Golf Course on August 29th, 2020.

Mr. Collins is the School Principal at Rutledge Elementary School, pastor of Adriel Missionary Baptist Church, and member of the Appalachian Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. Mr. Collins was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma on March 2020.

The event was the creation of Grainger County School Board member Johnny Brooks, with fellow organizers Eddie Jarnigan, Bean Station Mayor Ben Waller , and Adriel Missionary Baptist Church Deacon Tim Seal.

The skies were overcast, rain had poured down that morning, all remnants of Hurricane Laura, but the response was still overwhelming. Originally the goal was to have 30, four-player, teams participate and the day of the event 58 teams competed.

Mr. Collins was not able to attend the benefit, but he was well represented by his wife Christy who is a teacher at Bean Station Elementary School and their three children, Dylan, Owen, and Nora.

Lunch was provided at the the Bean Station Senior Citizens Center for participants and member of the community. A special thank you to Kelly Keck with Clinchview Golf Course for allowing use of the facility on this date.
